General Program Regulations
The doctoral program of PEM School is regulated by the Greek legislation and a decision of the university senate..
Requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy:
- a minimum of 30 ECTS of coursework, or at least four graduate level courses; all courses must be passed in the first two years
- submission of annual progress reports
- fulfillment of educational tasks (exams proctoring, teaching, etc.) assigned by the school and the PhD supervisor
- completion of original research work leading to a doctoral dissertation
- two publications in refereed journals and conferences (one journal publication minimum)
- successful dissertation defense before the doctoral examination committee.
The program length is at least three years and at most six; the School Assembly may upon request approve a maximum of two years extension.
Fulfillment of the above requirements leads to the award of Doctoral Diploma and the title of
Doctor of the Technical University of Crete.
