Program Structure

General Program Regulations

The doctoral program of PEM School is regulated by Greek Law 4957/2022 and a Session 474/2018 Technical University of Crete Senate Decision.

Requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy:

· a minimum of 30 ECTS of coursework, or at least four graduate level courses; all courses must be passed in the first two years

· submission of annual progress reports

· fulfillment of educational tasks, such as examination proctorships and teaching assignments, assigned by the school and the PhD supervisor

· completion of original research work leading to a doctoral dissertation

· two publications in refereed journals and conferences (one journal publication minimum)

· successful dissertation defense before the doctoral examination committee.

The program length is at least three years and at most six; the School Assembly may upon request approve a maximum of two years extension.

Fulfillment of the above requirements leads to the award of Doctoral Diploma and the title of

Doctor of the Technical University of Crete.
